Our Key People

The structure of the firm is that the head of the firm supervises and co-ordinates the practice as well as the administration of the firm. He is assisted by a deputy head.


Our firm has two divisions–litigation; and consultancy and advisory services. Each is headed and coordinated by an experienced, skilled and talented lawyer who also has a business mind set.


Dr. Livy Uzoukwu, OON, SAN is the head of our law firm.


He attended the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) and graduated with LL.B Honours Degree in 1981. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in July 1982. He obtained his LLM Degree from the Abia State University in 1991 and LLD from the University of South Africa in 2010.


In 1997, he attended leadership training at the International Leadership Academy, United Nations University, Amman, Jordan.


He commenced legal practice after national youth service in July 1983. In February 1994, he was appointed the Honourable Attorney–General and Commissioner for Justice, Imo State. Till date, he remained the youngest person ever appointed to that office in Imo State.


At the end of his duty tour as Attorney–General in October 1996, he went back to private legal practice. In September 1999, he was conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.


Between 1994 and 1996, he was a member of the Imo State Security Council, Imo State Judicial Service Committee and Imo State Boundary Commission. He was also a member of the Imo State Magistrate/High Court Rules Committee. He was the Chairman, Imo State Government Panel on Ikeduru Local Government Council Crisis from July –September 2005.


At the Federal level, he was a member of the Body of Benchers and Council of Legal Education 1994-1996.


He has prodigious experience in the practice of law at all levels of the judicial system in Nigeria up to the apex court, the Supreme Court.

He has acted as legal adviser to several companies, corporations and institutions.


Dr Uzoukwu, OON, SAN is an accomplished author of several legal literature. He is equally a poet who has won several prizes.


He has acted as counsel to State Governments and their agencies; and some Federal agencies and parastatals. He also consults on Nigerian Law for some United Kingdom solicitors.


He has delivered several learned papers at seminars, conferences, symposia and workshops.


The Executive Governor of Imo State appointed him a member of the Imo Sate Council of Elders in 2007 in recognition of his exemplary services to the State.

On 22 December 2008, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, conferred him with the National Honour of Officer of the Order of Niger (OON) “in recognition of your outstanding virtues and in appreciation of services to our country, Nigeria”.


Mr Abiodun Kolawole was born in Ilorin, Kwara State. He graduated from the University of Lagos in 1998 with LL.B. He was called to the Bar in 1999.


He undertook his one year National Youth Service programme in Owerri, Imo State with our firm. He was retained after his youth service in our firm and has been in active legal practice till date.


He is a gifted, experienced and versatile lawyer who as deputy head of our firm, assists the head in supervising and administering the firm.


He attended Abia State University and graduated in the year 2000 with LL.B Degree. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in the year 2004.


He did his National Youth Service in Ovia South – West Local Government Area of Edo State where he was appointed the Corps Liaison Officer (CLO). He joined our law firm on the 1st of July 2005.


Kemdi is an outstanding lawyer with exceptional drafting skills. He heads the firm’s Consultancy and Advisory Services Division.

He is happily married to Marachi Kemdi Uba.


Mike Onyekachi Esq who heads our Litigation Division attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (Enugu Campus) where he had his LL.B in July 2005. After his graduation, he proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus for his B.L. and was called to the Nigerian Bar on Thursday 9th day of November 2006.


Mike did his National Youth Service programme with the Ministry of Justice Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. He passed out in 2007 and joined our firm on 24th September 2007.


Mike also had training in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and has acquired other mediation and professional skills. He has a passion for litigation and is a first class lawyer.


Valentine attended the Abia State University and graduated with LL.B honours in 1996. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1998. He did his National Youth Service programme from 1998-1999 at the law practice of Chief Nnoruka Udechukwu, SAN. In January 2000 he joined our law firm. In 2001, he took a leave of absence to attend the University of Wales, Aberystwyth for his graduate studies.


In 2002, he graduated from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and was awarded LL.M degree in Environmental Law and Management. Subsequently, he undertook qualifying conversion course and was enrolled as a solicitor in England and Wales.


Valentine is the senior managing partner in a London based firm of solicitors covering a wide remit of legal matters. He also acts as a consultant to our firm.


He has, on behalf of many of our clients, rendered impeccable and quality legal services on several aspects of UK law. He has competently conducted appeals which we referred to him on behalf of our clients at the UK Immigration Tribunals. Indeed, he has added much value to the practice of our firm.
